The Xilxes City Council and FACSA have completed the work to renew the electrical installation of the El Salvador wells in the town, one of the two sources of supply from which drinking water is supplied to the urban center of the municipality.

The project has improved the regulation of water flow, preventing sudden pressure spikes in the pipes and minimizing the risk of breakdowns. It has also increased the efficiency of the pumping system, which channels the collected groundwater to the regulating reservoir before it enters the supply network.

In this regard, in addition to modifying the electrical installation to install a new, single electrical panel and replace the power cables, a new transformer substation has been commissioned and the existing electromechanical equipment has been optimized. This included renewing the electrical connections for both the submersible pump and the vertical pump motors.

“These works are part of the continuous improvement program that we at FACSA apply to the different facilities we manage in the province and, in addition to improving the quality of service, the risk of possible breakdowns due to problems in the regulation of water pressure is reduced,” explained the representatives of FACSA.

For his part, the mayor of Xilxes, José Martínez, recalled that “this action was a necessity for the municipality and provides a solution to leaks or possible breakdowns, so the government team is pleased to have been able to carry out this intervention, since the installation had been suffering from problems for years.”.

The project has been financed through the water levy collected in the quarterly bill for the supply of drinking water and sewage.
