Wastewater from the perspective of Circular economy

Under the premise of treating water as a value and not a resource, at Facsa we offer a comprehensive sanitation and purification service, in which technology and innovation play a key role. Our objective is to transform purification plants into resource recovery and valorisation centres, aligning our management with the principles of the circular economy.

Our work includes everything from the transport of wastewater to its treatment, returning it to the environment in the best possible condition, or, in the best-case scenario and whenever possible, reusing it. Furthermore, we strive to give a second life to the waste generated, although our priority is to minimise its production from the outset.

Design and construction

We design and build all types of hydraulic infrastructure, both small and large scale, including collectors, outfalls, wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) and tertiary treatment systems for effluent reuse.

Our technical experience and in-depth knowledge of infrastructure management allow us to develop highly efficient projects with the highest sustainability standards.

Operation and maintenance

We are responsible for the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plants, ensuring all equipment and systems function optimally. This maintenance includes predictive, preventive, and corrective actions to guarantee the efficiency of the processes.

To improve this service, we have developed computer applications that allow us to personalise maintenance planning according to the needs of each installation. These tools also facilitate the organisation of work routes, the control of operating equipment and spare parts inventory, among other key tasks.

Energy optimisation – audits

We carry out energy audits in wastewater treatment plants, both urban and industrial. In this way, we identify key energy consumption points and propose solutions to reduce it.

These audits include, among other aspects, the study of contracted tariffs and power ratings, the identification of the processes that consume the most energy, suggestions for optimising operation or acquiring new equipment, and the evaluation of potential alternative energy sources that reduce reliance on the electricity grid.

Microbiological process control

We evaluate the performance of wastewater treatment plants using techniques such as respirometry, simulations with specialised software, and microbiological analyses of the biological reactors.

Thanks to these studies, we can identify areas for improvement and propose adjustments to resolve potential problems, optimising the facility's operation and ensuring its compliance with current regulations.

Water regeneration

We are committed to water reclamation as a key unconventional water source, making it one of our main areas of research and innovation.

This commitment positions us as a driving force for change towards a circular model, essential for facing the challenges of the new climate scenario, marked by phenomena such as intense drought episodes or torrential rain.

Technical support

We offer specialised technical assistance through periodic visits and ongoing support for our clients.
