La Vall d'Uixó will see nearly 800 meters of drinking water pipes renewed before the end of 2019. This work is part of the "Renewal and Improvement of Drinking Water Network Infrastructure" plan being carried out by the town council and FACSA, the company that manages this service.
These works include the installation of new high-density polyethylene pipes on the Segorbe road and the Sagunto, Ausiàs March and San Quintín streets, replacing the current ones, which are very old and extremely fragile.
In another project, on Southwest Avenue, the Grupo Gimeno company will focus its efforts on an incomplete section of the network, the end of which will be connected to one of the main pipelines, so that a closed circuit, or mesh, is created that recirculates the water and improves its sanitary quality.
In this way, as Óscar Peris, coordinator of the Southern Zone of FACSA, has pointed out, with the project "we will put an end to breaks and leaks in the pipes and improve the city's water resources and, with it, the service provided to the residents of the town.".
Mayor Tania Baños and Councilor for Urban Planning Francesca Bartolomé emphasized that, in addition to improving the service, “we are also upgrading the sidewalks and paving in these areas, adapting them to accessibility regulations.” They also announced that they have received the archaeological permit from the Regional Ministry authorizing them “to fulfill our commitment to the residents of Roser to work on San Quintín Street, which is in very poor condition.”.
The construction site was visited today by representatives of the entities involved. From the city council, Tania Baños, mayor of Vall d'Uixó, and Francesca Bartolomé, councilor for Urban Planning, attended, accompanied by Óscar Peris and Guillermo Urios, head of service at FACSA.
