The Torreblanca Town Council is strengthening its integrated water cycle management with a new digital system now operational in the water supply and sanitation networks of Torreblanca and Torrenostra. This transformation allows for a more precise understanding of the infrastructure's operation, anticipates potential problems, and improves water quality control.
The municipal network now has up-to-date information on essential aspects of the service's daily operation, such as the volume of water circulating, the pressure at which it reaches different points in the municipality, and certain parameters related to its quality. Thanks to this data, technical teams can detect anomalies, make decisions more quickly, and act before an incident affects residents.
“Digitizing the water cycle doesn't just mean incorporating technology, but rather making better use of information to provide a safer, more efficient, and more accessible service to the public,” stated the mayor of Torreblanca, Tania Agut. “Being able to know how the network is behaving at any given moment will help us anticipate potential problems, reduce water losses, and make decisions more quickly and accurately,” she added.
The new system has 16 points to monitor flow and another 16 for pressure control in different areas of the municipality. This information allows for a better understanding of the network's behavior, faster location of potential leaks, and optimization of its operation.
Digitalization also strengthens the control of drinking water quality through three new continuous monitoring points. These are in addition to three other pieces of equipment installed in the sanitation network, which improve wastewater monitoring and provide more information in the event of potential spills.
All the data is integrated into a centralized platform that provides a comprehensive and up-to-date overview of the Torreblanca and Torrenostra networks. The City Council is thus moving towards a more proactive management model, based on continuous monitoring of the infrastructure and the early identification of any warning signs.
For citizens, this transformation translates into a more controlled and reliable network, a faster response to breakdowns, greater supply stability, and better water use. It also simplifies maintenance and helps reduce service interruptions.
“Our goal is to conserve every drop of water and ensure that Torreblanca and Torrenostra have infrastructure prepared to meet their current and future needs,” explained Agut. “This project allows us to move towards more responsible management of such an essential resource as water and improve a service indispensable to the daily lives of all households.”.
