The Xilxes Town Council and FACSA will begin rat and insect control work next week in various parts of the town center in order to prevent the possible proliferation of insects and rodents during the hottest months of the year.
The tasks, which will begin in the beach area and later extend to the rest of the town, will consist of the application of various preventive treatments that will combine the spraying of key points of the wastewater collectors with the installation of rodenticide baits.
With the aim of increasing the efficiency of the treatments, the Department of Municipal Services and FACSA have recommended both conditioning vacant lots and uninhabited homes and using specific products inside private buildings to prevent the appearance of possible pest outbreaks.
These teams carry out preventative and corrective maintenance throughout the year, although they intensify their work with the arrival of summer and the gradual increase in temperatures. The municipal department also reminded residents that complaints can be submitted to the FACSA customer service office or the town hall.
