The La Vilavella Town Council and FACSA, as part of their commitment to continuous improvement, have begun work to renew the sewer main located on Horta Street in the town. This project is part of La Vilavella's Hydraulic Infrastructure Improvement Plan and covers the area from Cova Santa Street to the Vall d'Uixó road.

Among other advantages, the project has allowed for the expansion of the existing network, which has a diameter of 200 mm, to accommodate a new 500 mm diameter collector, 130 meters long. Additionally, this initiative has also involved replacing 31 residential service connections to increase their capacity, upgrading them from a diameter of 100 mm to 250 mm.

Regarding the progress of the work, FACSA representatives explained that, “in addition to renovating the existing facilities, the work has served to expand the capacity of the hydraulic infrastructure at this point in the urban area, in order to improve the quality of the service we provide to the public.”.

For her part, regarding the set of street improvement works, the Councillor for Urban Planning and Services of the La Vilavella City Council, Carmen Navarro, stated that “the sanitation network renewal work carried out by FACSA, with the help of the Castellón Provincial Council, has been completed prior to the paving works that the city council will launch in the coming months.”.

In addition, the council has also taken advantage of the works to expand the stormwater drainage capacity in this area of the town center by installing a new 80-meter-long, 500 mm diameter collector, as well as four storm drains. These installations will improve the water removal system during rainy days and prevent potential overloads in the sewer system. This resolves the wastewater and stormwater drainage problems that periodically affected this street in La Vilavella.
