Promoting and developing training, dissemination and innovation activities in the field of circular economy is the main objective of the FACSA-FOVASA Chair of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), which continues to support socially responsible projects related to water and waste management.
This is the case of Azalea, a spontaneously formed group at the UPV (Polytechnic University of Valencia) with whom the Chair has begun collaborating to define the housing of the future. A self-sufficient and environmentally conscious house, for whose design the Chair will provide the initiative with financial resources and all its know-how in water and waste management.
Currently, Azalea - which was created to represent the UPV in Solar Decathlon Europe, the most prestigious international university competition on the design and construction of sustainable housing - is working on Escalà, a housing project focused on the reconversion and rehabilitation of the Cabanyal neighborhood, which has a great heritage and is part of the most recent history of Valencia.
