The Torreblanca Town Council and FACSA carry out pest control work

Torreblanca Town Hall and Facsa sewage treatment

The Torreblanca Town Council and FACSA, the company that manages the drinking water and sewage service in the town, have begun pest control work on the municipal sewage system. This work will involve applying various treatments at different points in the town center and the Torrenostra area to prevent the potential proliferation of rodents and insects, primarily due to the high temperatures typical of the summer months.

In that sense, the treatments are being applied in two phases: one as a preventive plan and a second as a corrective one, in response to the notices received from the public.

The first phase of the plan has consisted of applying insecticide and rodenticide treatments at different points in the urban area, as well as inspecting the network in detail to study the possible appearance of outbreaks and prevent the proliferation of pests.

In a second phase, FACSA technicians carried out a new review to focus particularly on the areas considered most "problematic" in the first phase, as well as reinforcing treatments in those areas where warnings were received during the time between the two applications.

In the specific case of Torreblanca, the treatments have been carried out on an approximate surface of about 50 kilometers of pipes, corresponding to both the rainwater and wastewater network, in addition to more than 850 manholes.

The mayor of Torreblanca, Josefa Tena, accompanied by the FACSA representative for the area, Manuel Segarra, visited the sites where the treatments are being applied to oversee their implementation. Mayor Tena emphasized the importance of citizen cooperation in the early detection of insects and rodents, enabling more effective action against these pests.
