- The entities have carried out the renewal of the supply network in urban centers of ses Païsses, Can Bonet and Sol y Descanso
The Sant Antoni City Council and FACSA, the company that holds the concession for the drinking water supply and sewage service in the town, continue to make successful progress in implementing the plan to renew the supply and sewage networks as outlined in the contract that began last year.
In this context, the most significant work has taken place in the urban areas of Ses Païsses, Can Bonet, and Sol y Descanso, where the relevant authorities have installed a new drinking water network, putting an end to the supply problems that residents of the higher parts of the neighborhood have suffered for years. These problems stemmed from the condition of the pipes and caused low water pressure, water outages, and disruptions due to the constant need for repairs.
The project—valued at €700,000, of which €387,692.81 has been fully funded by FACSA—has been a priority for both the local council and the new concessionaire responsible for carrying out the work. This work also included connecting the Sa Serra water reservoir to the Ses Païsses reservoir and sectorizing the network. This will reduce the number of people affected by a potential water supply interruption in the event of a breakdown.
In total, the complete renewal of the supply network in the area - carried out in the streets Noguers, Clavell, Rosers, Girasol, Cepell, Magraners, Espadella, Murta, Bolitx, Llimoners, Pomeres and Garrovers - includes the installation of a total of 3,342 meters of pipe, as well as new valves, irrigation outlets and connections of the subscribers to the service.
Similarly, the entities have carried out the renewal of the water supply network on General Balanzat Street – at a cost of €34,464.55 – and on Cala Gració Road and its adjacent streets – with a budget of €461,497.07. In both cases, the work consisted of replacing the pipes and shut-off valves, as well as dividing the network into sectors.
With all this, both FACSA and the City Council of the municipality seek to guarantee the highest quality of service and minimize the inconvenience caused to subscribers, both by the frequent water cuts they suffered and by the annoying works that disrupted road traffic in the area.
