The Nules City Council and FACSA, the concessionaire of the town's municipal drinking water service, have completed the work to extend the distribution network to the town of Mascarell.
This project, which is part of the Nules Hydraulic Infrastructure Improvement Plan, has allowed the expansion of the drinking water distribution network from Senda Mitjana Avenue to the town of Mascarell, thanks to the installation of a new 110 mm polyethylene pipe.
The expansion complements the old 100 mm asbestos cement pipeline, which, due to its age, is very close to the end of its useful life, and which also runs at a great depth through private land, making its maintenance difficult and causing inconvenience to the owners of the plots through which it passes.
In this regard, Juan Luis Orenga, head of the supply area service at FACSA, has assured that the duplication of the network "guarantees the water supply to the town of Mascarell in the long term, anticipating the possible collapse of the old pipeline.".
In total, the investment has allowed the extension of 590 meters of pipeline and the installation of five new shut-off valves in the network, which will improve the regulation and operation of the drinking water distribution system to Mascarell.
The Councillor for Works and Services of the Nules City Council, Adrián Sorribes, wanted to highlight the importance of these works for the municipality: “this is a very important action for the residents of Mascarell, since it allows for the improvement of water conveyance and ensures a permanent supply.”.
In this way, the Nules City Council and FACSA reaffirm their commitment to the constant improvement of the municipality's water infrastructure.
