• The brigades will work this month in the beach area and will extend the sweeps to the town center starting in June

The Moncofa City Council and FACSA have started work this week on the municipality's sewer network to prevent the possible proliferation of rodents and cockroaches, especially in anticipation of the hottest months of the year.

The treatments, which began on Monday in the beach area, will continue on May 13 and 14 in this area, while on June 5 and 6 and July 24 they will be extended to the rest of the urban area through intensive sweeps to ensure maximum effectiveness in the different areas to be treated and thus control the reproduction cycle of these animals in the sewer network.

The workers have started these tasks for the time being in the coastal area, which at this time of year has fewer residents and vacationers, in order to extend the operation to the rest of the urban area starting in June, taking advantage of the beginning of the holiday period.

Depending on the specific characteristics and needs of each area of the town, the team of specialists from the Grupo Gimeno company will apply treatments that combine different methods, such as spraying or the application of rodenticide baits, in order to increase their reach.

To ensure the effectiveness of the preventative treatments, both the Moncofa City Council and FACSA request the collaboration of residents to prepare, especially in the days prior, uninhabited homes and vacant lots, as well as to use household products inside buildings and private connections.

All this information and preventative advice can be found in information leaflets published by the Moncofa City Council and FACSA, which will be available at the City Hall.
