Facsa is reinforcing its commitment to young talent and applied research with the upcoming edition of the Horizonte Verde Chair awards: Water-Bioenergy Nexus, promoted in conjunction with the University of Valencia and SITRA. The initiative will recognize the best doctoral theses and master's theses focused on innovative solutions in the field of water, bioenergy and bioeconomy.
In a context marked by environmental challenges and the need to move towards more sustainable models, the chair is consolidating its position as a space for connection between academia and the business sector. Through these awards, the aim is to identify and showcase research capable of generating real impact, promoting knowledge transfer and its application in productive environments.
Candidates may address strategic lines such as wastewater treatment and valorization, biogas and biomethane production, resource recovery, organic waste management, and the development of new sustainable technologies. Key themes aligned with the transformation of the integrated water cycle and the promotion of the circular economy.
The award for Best Master's Thesis is aimed at students who have developed their research in these areas, and will be endowed with an iPad valued at 900 euros, in addition to an accreditation diploma and the opportunity to give visibility to their work in activities of the chair.
For its part, the award for Best Doctoral Thesis will recognize outstanding research in these areas, with a MacBook valued at 1,800 euros and the opportunity to present its results at a technical conference, thus promoting the exchange of knowledge between researchers and professionals in the sector.
The deadline for submitting applications remains open until October 15, 2026.
