The FACSA Chair of Innovation in the Integrated Water Cycle of the Universitat Jaume I of Castellón has held a seminar on hydrogeotoxicity and medical geology led by Dr. Elena Giménez-Forcada, senior research scientist of the Department of Research in Geological Resources, of the Geological and Mining Institute of Spain (IGME), in the Territorial Unit of Salamanca.
During her presentation, Giménez-Forcada noted that water “is an essential resource, and in many arid and semi-arid regions, groundwater is the only available source of drinking water.” She emphasized that “understanding the geological factors that regulate the distribution and mobility of trace elements in groundwater is fundamental for predicting, planning, and managing water resources appropriately and effectively.”.
This seminar is part of the initiatives undertaken by the FACSA Chair of Innovation in the Integrated Water Cycle at Jaume I University to promote training, outreach, and dissemination of studies related to the integrated water cycle. It also forms part of the 'Thursday Seminar' series, which is free and open to all interested parties.
