Following the recent celebration of the awards ceremony for its fourth edition, the FACSA Chair of Innovation in the Integrated Water Cycle at the Universitat Jaume I in Castelló reaffirms its commitment to promoting talent with the announcement of the fifth edition of the awards for the best Bachelor's Thesis, Master's Thesis and Doctoral Thesis related to the integrated water cycle.
These awards aim to attract talented future researchers to this field of study, which is fundamental to the sustainable development of society. They also bring to the public the excellent work being done in universities and research centers, as well as the great effort dedicated to conserving water as an essential resource.
In this regard, the call for submissions—which will be open until July 1, 2021—will award €300 to the best Bachelor's Thesis, €400 to the best Master's Thesis, and €1,000 to the best Doctoral Dissertation. Furthermore, the winning works will be published online, and, if the jury deems it appropriate, the Doctoral Dissertation will be published within the UJI Chair's collection.
It is worth noting that, following the high level shown by the participants in previous editions, it was decided two calls ago to extend the awards to the national level, thus allowing any university student or researcher who has defended their Final Degree Project, Final Master Project or Doctoral Thesis in any of the public or private universities in Spain during the years 2019 and 2020 to access them.
The panel will consist of Professor Sergio Chiva, director of the FACSA-UJI Chair; José Guillermo Berlanga, director of the R&D and Continuous Improvement area of Grupo Gimeno, as well as Professors Jorge Rodríguez, from the Masdar Institute of Science & Technology in Abu Dhabi; Teresa Vicent, from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and Javier Navarro, Miguel Martín and Fernando M. Alzamora, from the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
