The FACSA Chair at UJI offers an online course on the operation and management of a wastewater treatment plant.

Facsa Chair Course

The FACSA Chair of Innovation in the Integrated Water Cycle at the Universitat Jaume I in Castellón, through its Department of Mechanical Engineering and Construction, is offering a new edition of the online course 'Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTPs): Operation and Management'. This course is primarily aimed at professionals, university graduates, and final-year students who wish to acquire practical knowledge related to the effectiveness and efficiency of WWTP operation.

The sessions will begin on April 9th and end on May 31st. They will include theoretical topics, accompanied by explanatory videos with a practical focus, based on the experience and knowledge of the various speakers. At the end of each topic, different questions and problems will be posed to reinforce the acquired knowledge, and activities will be proposed using a simulation program with a practical guide.

The course, taught by specialists such as Luis Basiero, chemical engineer, Master in Environmental Engineering and director of the Sanitation and Purification Area of FACSA; Javier Climent, chemical engineer, Master in Energy Efficiency and Sustainability in Industrial Facilities and R&D&I technician of FACSA; in addition to the researchers in modeling and simulation in WWTPs from the UJI Rubén García and Rosario Arnau, will allow students to acquire practical, efficient and effective training on WWTP operation.

The training aims to equip participants to interpret the different process and treatment units of a Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), to focus on the study of the most significant design and process and operation control criteria, and to raise awareness of the most common operational problems in this type of facility, with the aim of studying possible solutions.
