Facsa's experience in Sant Antoni, an example of efficient water management in Ibiza

Facsa participated in the debate “Less plastic, more water,” held at the Diario de Ibiza Club, with a presentation focused on the quality of drinking water in the municipality of Sant Antoni de Portmany. This event, organized by the Aliança per l'Aigua (Water Alliance) and the Consell d'Eivissa (Island Council of Ibiza), brought together representatives from the public sector, water management companies, and other industry organizations with the aim of promoting tap water consumption and reducing bottled water use on the island. 

During the session dedicated to water quality and waste management, Luis Miguel Redondo, head of the Municipal Water Service in Sant Antoni, spoke on behalf of Facsa, He detailed the progress made in controlling water quality in the municipality, as well as the measures being taken to promote public confidence in tap water as a safe, sustainable and economical alternative. 

Facsa's intervention highlighted the joint effort between the government and the company to guarantee an efficient, transparent water supply service adapted to current environmental challenges. It also emphasized the importance of continuing to promote environmental awareness and education campaigns as a key tool for moving towards a more responsible consumption model. 

The day also included presentations on the global challenges of water and waste in urban environments, as well as a round table with municipal representatives from Eivissa, Santa Eulària, Sant Joan, Sant Josep and Sant Antoni, who discussed local strategies to reduce the use of bottled water in their respective municipalities. 

The closing ceremony was led by the island councillor for the Environment, José Ignacio Andrés, who stressed the need for coordinated action between administrations, citizens and management entities to achieve a more sustainable Ibiza.
