As part of its firm commitment to sustainability and environmental protection, Facsa The Castellón Provincial Council and the regional government have announced the start of their annual public awareness campaign focused on the Integrated Water Cycle. This initiative, which has been running since 2004, aims to inform and raise awareness within the community about the importance of the care and responsible management of water resources.
As part of this campaign, Facsa, as part of its commitment to strengthening water culture in schools, will carry out 'The Course of Water' in collaboration with the Castellón Provincial Council and the educational community in schools located in towns with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants.
This innovative initiative, which reinforces awareness from an early age through videos, interactive material on tablets and practical experiments, will be aimed at primary school students.
In addition, to reach secondary school students, the educational project #ConéctateAlAgua will be deployed for the first time, an immersive virtual reality experience where you can travel the path that water follows throughout its natural and urban cycle.
«It is essential to promote a water culture from an early age that fosters responsibility and respect for this vital resource,» explained Iván Sánchez, Provincial Deputy for Sports, Hunting, and the Integrated Water Cycle. In this regard, he emphasized that close collaboration with the educational community “allows us to effectively reach young people, who will be the agents of change in the future for the protection of our environment.».
The list of centers where these activities will take place includes 16 schools located in the northern, central, and southern areas. It is worth noting that the wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) in the towns where this initiative is planned are managed by [the relevant authority/company name]. Facsa and framed within the contract with the Provincial Council of Castellón.
This initiative, in addition to promoting a water culture, responds to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 12 and 13 of the 2030 agenda, which address two fundamental aspects: the importance of providing people with the necessary knowledge to promote sustainable development and the strengthening of education, awareness and human capacities in relation to reducing the impact of climate change.
