Desalination of seawater has advanced significantly in recent decades, improving its effectiveness and efficiency. In this field, we have developed technological solutions within our Waternology by Facsa brand to optimise integrated water cycle management. These include replacing membranes with more efficient models, installing monitoring, remote control and remote operation technology, as well as sensors to improve water quality and reduce losses, fostering responsible consumption. One of our latest projects is the management of the Ciutadella de Menorca seawater desalination plant, which supplies the municipal reservoirs of Cala d’en Bosch and Son Blanc. With an annual capacity of 3.30 hm³, this facility has two production lines of 5,000 m³/day, expandable to a third. The award, which covers the Ciutadella IDAM and its attached facilities in Menorca, amounts to 1.3 million euros for the next two years.
