We drive the valorisation of sludge through thermal hydrolysis to maximise energy and sustainability
Success cases at the Copero, Ranilla, and Alcoi Wastewater Treatment Plants with up to 100% of sanitisation and 20% more biogas.
We have extensive experience in implementing advanced thermal hydrolysis technologies to optimise sludge treatment in WWTPs, with proven results in large-scale facilities. In Seville, we have developed projects in plants serving 1,000,000 and 300,000 equivalent inhabitants, aimed at improving sludge hygienisation and increasing biogas production as a strategic driver of energy efficiency.
Among our main success stories are the Copero WWTP and the Ranilla WWTP. At Copero, we have achieved 80%sanitisation of the sludge generated, a 20% increase in biogas compared to the conventional anaerobic digestion process, and a 25% reduction in sludge volume. At Ranilla, we have achieved 100% sanitisation, along with a 25% sludge reduction and a 15% energy increase, consolidating a more efficient and sustainable operating model.
Furthermore, for the first time in Spain, we have implemented a double-phase temperature treatment at the Alcoi Wastewater Treatment Plant, through a 100%% in-house development, achieving minimised sludge volume generation and reinforcing process stability against variable loads. This milestone reflects our ability to lead innovative solutions that transform sludge management into a real opportunity for valorisation, sustainability, and improved overall plant performance.
