Secure the resource today. Protect it for tomorrow.
We modernised the irrigation system of the Najerilla River by increasing storage capacity and energy efficiency.
New hydraulic infrastructure with a regulation reservoir and photovoltaic plants for more resilient and sustainable irrigation in La Rioja.
We are driving the modernisation of the irrigation system of the Najerilla river canals, in La Rioja, through the development of new hydraulic infrastructure aimed at improving water availability and optimising energy consumption.
The project has involved the adaptation of primary irrigation infrastructures and the construction of a key regulation reservoir for the system. This action allows for an increase in storage capacity up to 35,093 m³, reinforcing water resource availability and improving irrigation management in the area.
Additionally, we are incorporating energy efficiency solutions through the installation of three photovoltaic plants, aimed at reducing the consumption associated with water pumping. This integration allows us to move towards a more sustainable irrigation model, minimising the operational energy impact.
With this action, we are contributing to the modernisation of irrigation infrastructure, improving its resilience, efficiency and sustainability, and responding to the current needs of the agricultural sector.
