We operate a waste valorisation plant that has established itself as a benchmark in energy self-sufficiency, having been recognised as the best biogas project in Spain at the Energy Engineering Congress.
The Llutxent plant manages 120,000 tonnes of organic waste annually through anaerobic digestion, transforming it into biogas and biofertilisers. The energy generated is used for the self-consumption of the installation itself, achieving a model of energy self-sufficiency that reduces its dependence on external sources.
Furthermore, the integration of photovoltaic energy reinforces this approach, optimising the energy mix and contributing to the decarbonisation of the environment. Thanks to this system, the plant avoids the emission of over 2,600 tonnes of CO₂ per year.
This project demonstrates how the combination of renewable technologies and waste valorisation allows progress towards a more sustainable, efficient energy model aligned with the principles of a circular economy.
