We are developing a pioneering biomethane infrastructure that integrates the valorisation of organic waste with the production of renewable energy and high-agronomic-value biofertilisers. A circular economy model that transforms an environmental challenge into an opportunity for the region.
The plant, one of the few facilities in Spain with the capacity to inject biomethane into the gas grid, converts agricultural and livestock waste and organic by-products into zero-kilometre renewable gas. Thanks to this process, the emission of over 9,200 tonnes of CO₂ per year is avoided, contributing directly to the decarbonisation of the energy system.
With a treatment capacity of more than 100,000 tonnes annually of waste from agriculture, livestock farming, and the agri-food industry, the facility addresses a structural need in the area, which is characterised by high agricultural activity. This approach allows for the circular reuse of materials, valorising by-products that, after treatment, are reintroduced into the local area in the form of organic fertilisers.
In addition to producing biomethane, with a volume equivalent to the energy consumption of thousands of households, the plant generates thousands of tonnes of biofertiliser annually, contributing to an improvement in soil quality and an increase in local agricultural productivity.
