Students from the Water Collection and Treatment Course of the FACSA Chair at the Universitat Jaume I in Castellón visited some of the facilities managed by Gimeno Servicios in the province this weekend.
On one hand, the students toured the reverse osmosis water treatment plant located in Burriana. They also had the opportunity to visit FACSA's Telecontrol Center, which allows for centralized, real-time monitoring of water facilities and the control of more than 6,000 parameters related to water quality and optimal supply.
The visit is one of the activities included in the course program, which started on January 29 and allows attendees to obtain specialized theoretical and practical training related to water resource management, the integrated water cycle, aquifers and hydrology in general, as well as addressing some of the problems associated with the sector, such as pollution or salinity.
The course, which is attended by both professionals and final-year university students, also emphasizes the treatment techniques used to make water suitable for human consumption, such as the design and equipment used for well collection.
As for the FACSA Chair of Innovation in the Integrated Water Cycle, it was created in 2015 with the aim of promoting training, research, knowledge dissemination and R&D in the management of the integrated water cycle, as well as promoting the socio-economic development of the province of Castellón.
