Trovant Proof of Concept

Biomethane from waste, on an industrial scale


Together with the startup Trovant, we are driving an innovative technology capable of unlocking the potential of biomethane in sectors where it was not previously viable.

At Facsa, we collaborate with Trovant on the development and industrial validation of NIDUP technology, an innovative solution that allows for the production of biomethane from biogas generated from organic waste: sludge, slurry, the organic fraction of municipal waste… Following several pilot tests, the project is moving towards its industrial-scale demonstration.

With this development, we are driving new opportunities to valorise biogas in small and medium-scale plants, particularly in the areas of wastewater and waste treatment, contributing to the energy transition and to a more circular and sustainable model.

Bioferric Proof of Concept

New sustainable adsorbents for industrial wastewater


We collaborated with Bioferric Ink on the development and scaling of innovative materials that reduce the cost and improve the sustainability of water treatment.

Bioferric Ink has developed adsorbent materials based on coated microparticles, designed to specifically target different types of contaminants and industrial waters. Their low production cost and reusability allow for a reduction in both operating expenses and waste generation.

The startup has worked from our facilities to scale its technology and validate the complete process at a pilot scale. This support has allowed it to progress from the laboratory to more robust production, consolidating an efficient and reusable alternative for the industry.

Dcycle Proof of Concept

Advanced digitalisation of the carbon footprint


We are advancing in the measurement and reduction of GHG emissions through a digital solution adapted to the integral water cycle.

At Facsa, we have developed a proof of concept in conjunction with Dcycle to implement a digital solution that allows us to calculate and manage our greenhouse gas emissions more agilely, accurately, and automatically, in compliance with major international standards.

Thanks to this tool, we can simplify data collection, improve the reliability of calculations and obtain key metrics for decision-making across a multi-site structure. This project reinforces our decarbonisation strategy and the role of digitalisation in more sustainable management.

Hovering Solutions Proof of Concept

Autonomous drones for inspecting sewer networks


We apply high technology to improve the safety and inspection of the sanitation system.

From Facsa, in collaboration with Hovering Solutions, we have developed a proof of concept based on the use of autonomous drones for the inspection of sewer collectors. This technology allows us to navigate confined spaces without GPS or a pilot, obtaining images, videos, and a 3D digital twin of the inspected route.

Thanks to this solution, we improve work safety, speed up incident detection, and gain a more accurate understanding of the network's status. This is a clear example of how open innovation helps us modernise the comprehensive water cycle management.
