The president of the Spanish Association of Water Supply and Sanitation (AEAS), Pascual Fernández; the mayor of Castellón, Begoña Carrasco; and the president of the Castellón Provincial Council; Marta Barrachina, have inaugurated the XXXVII edition of the AEAS Congress, The event, which is taking place at the Castellón Conference and Auditorium from today until June 7, was also attended by [names of participants]. In his opening speech, the president of AEAS, Pascual Fernández, has highlighted that, in this edition, the necessary governance and sustainability of urban water services These are the fundamental thematic axes of this Congress, but, he added, so too are the legislative changes that have occurred in recent years and those yet to come, both at the national and European levels, which will bring about a revolution in all areas of the sector.
In that regard, Pascual Fernández stressed that the most relevant aspects related to the new [policy/system] will be addressed during the Congress. Directive on the treatment of urban wastewater (TARU), with the cybersecurity, the digital transformation or the water-energy nexus and the decarbonisation.
