The Councillor for Climate Improvement and Water Management, Carlos Mundina, joined a multitude of children today in a series of activities specially designed to commemorate World Recycling Day. These activities were organized by the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) through its Chair. Facsa – Fovasa of Water, Waste and Circular Economy, In collaboration with the Valencia City Council, the workshops have received the support of Mundina, who has highlighted the importance of educating younger generations about the need to care for our planet.
Eduardo Benetó, director of Fovasa Medioambiente, was also present at the event, highlighting "the shared vocation to build a better future through the commitment and education of new generations.".
Mundina also praised these initiatives as "crucial steps to instill the message about the importance of recycling in the youngest children, urging them to bring that awareness to their homes.".
The day was filled with a series of educational and fun activities, including interactive learning zones, hands-on activities with recycling bins, and children's workshops using recycled materials. In addition, valuable information was provided on proper waste separation, and a chill-out reading area was created with books related to recycling and environmental care.
The active presence of the Councillor for Climate Improvement and representatives from Fovasa underscores the commitment of the City Council and the company to promoting sustainable practices. “With events like this, we contribute to the city continuing on its path towards a greener future,” Benetó concluded.
