Foz strengthens the control of its bathing waters this summer and confirms their good quality

The Foz Town Council and Facsa have reinforced the monitoring of bathing waters in the municipality this summer with an additional analysis campaign at several of its main beaches, aimed at obtaining more information on water quality during the peak tourist season. Samples were taken during June, July, and August at the beaches of A Rapadoira, Llas, Fondás, Pampillosa, Arealonga, Polas, Xuncos, Alemáns, Areoura, and Tupide.

The results obtained in these studies have been favorable in all areas analyzed and no incidents related to water quality have been detected.

These controls allow the City Council and Facsa, the operating company, to have additional and updated information about the beaches and to act more quickly if any change or possible incident is detected.

The mayor of Foz, Fran Cajoto, emphasized that “these controls, which are part of the new integrated water cycle management system, allow us to gather more information about the condition of our beaches and strengthen their monitoring during the peak tourist season. The results obtained so far are positive in all the areas analyzed, which allows us to continue working to ensure that residents and visitors can enjoy our coastline with peace of mind.”.

In this regard, the mayor also emphasized that “the new stage in water management, which began last March, allows us to move towards a broader, more preventative model that is closer to the needs of the municipality, taking advantage of Facsa's experience and technical resources to strengthen the care of our water resources.
