In a context where efficient and sustainable water management is increasingly crucial, the Foz Town Council has launched the new website for its water service and its new social media profiles, Auga de Foz, at an event held as part of the commemoration of World Water Day, celebrated every March 22nd. This initiative aims to improve communication with citizens and facilitate access to information and services related to the water supply.
These new digital tools are part of the service modernization process that the municipality is promoting together with Facsa, the new company managing the integrated water cycle, with the aim of moving towards a more accessible, transparent and closer model for residents.
The event also had a strong educational focus, and some of the service's main new features were presented. The town's mayor, Francisco Cajoto, opened the event, which included the unveiling of the service's new website, a portal designed to facilitate access to information and everyday procedures.
“This new digital tool represents another step in the evolution of the service towards a more accessible model, better adapted to the current needs of the population. Through this platform, residents will be able to carry out tasks such as requesting appointments, checking their bills, or accessing detailed service information in a clear and simple way,” the mayor stated.
The website also includes a virtual office that allows users to carry out procedures quickly and securely 24 hours a day, as well as access information on water quality or the structure of the bill, facilitating a greater understanding of the service.
As part of this commitment to closer ties with the community, the City Council has also launched the service's new social media profiles, which will be active on Instagram and Facebook under the name Auga de Foz. These platforms will strengthen direct communication with residents through service alerts, useful information, and educational content.
The day has also served to bring the culture of water closer to new generations with the celebration of the program The Course of Water, an initiative that has allowed more than a hundred schoolchildren from the municipality to learn, through workshops, games and practical experiences, how the water cycle works and the importance of making responsible use of this resource.
This combination of digitization, service improvement and dissemination is part of the new management model being implemented in Foz following the recent award of the service to Facsa, a company with more than 150 years of experience in the management of the integral water cycle, whose track record will allow the municipality to incorporate advanced solutions adapted to its specific challenges.
