The Ecole Polytechnique University of Palaiseau in France was chosen as the venue for the follow-up meeting of the AQUIAlity project, the European Training Network, of which FACSA is a part, which aims to develop innovative and more effective purification technologies capable of efficiently removing emerging contaminants.

Furthermore, the Grupo Gimeno company participated in the program's winter school, which took place between March 4th and 8th. There, Javier Climent, FACSA's R&D&I technician, gave a presentation about the company and the activities the students will undertake during their training at its facilities. Meanwhile, Iván Matías Sciscenko, the first ESR (Engineering, Responsibility, and Service) student to visit FACSA, presented the results obtained from his stay at the Alhama de Murcia Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). There, together with the WWTP manager, Francisco Valero, he evaluated the effectiveness of a photocatalytic microparticle treatment system compared to the Photo-Fenton and H2O2+UV processes for CEC (Contaminant Extraction) removal.

The AQUAlity Network brings together a total of 11 European partners, including universities, research centers, and companies, with the aim of generating and promoting 15 highly qualified scientists (ESRs) with the potential to address current and future challenges related to the protection of water resources against emerging contaminants (ECs).
