A total of 25 students from the Universitat Jaume I in Castellón, who reside in the city, received their official FACSA Scholarships today. This initiative, promoted by the company FACSA and the UJI, aims to help students living in the city with their university tuition fees.
The solemn ceremony, held in the plenary hall of the city hall, was attended by the mayor of Castellón, Amparo Marco; the rector of the UJI, Vicent Climent and the president of FACSA, Enrique Gimeno, who presented 10 scholarships for first enrollments and 15 for continuation of studies.
This time, FACSA has allocated 22,000 euros to the scholarship program for the 2017-2018 academic year, which, with a maximum of 1,000 euros per student, has been awarded based on economic criteria, academic results and enrolled credits.
The president of FACSA, Enrique Gimeno, has expressed his “satisfaction” at “being able to contribute, to the best of our ability, to promoting young talent and rewarding effort and excellence in order to, regardless of purely economic factors, facilitate access to the best education for the professionals of the future, which in turn will guarantee the development and continuous improvement of our territory.”.
For his part, the rector of the UJI, Vicent Climent, highlighted the fact that the scholarship award ceremony was being held “in a council chamber where, in addition to making the most important decisions for the city, portraits of some of its most illustrious citizens are prominently displayed. Receiving these scholarships here, under their gaze, also carries a responsibility, because it entails a commitment like the one they all had to their city and to society.”.
In turn, the mayor of Castellón, Amparo Marco, thanked both the UJI and FACSA for their "commitment" to the city in "contributing to the development of talent and the training of our young people because it represents a guarantee of the future both for our city and for the country as a whole.".
