FACSA expands its operations in the province of Valencia. The Gimeno Servicios company has taken over the operation of the Buñol-Alborache Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). This facility serves a population equivalent of 46,000 inhabitants and has a design flow rate of 7,000 m³ per day. Furthermore, it is the first WWTP in the province of Valencia to be managed by FACSA.
Regarding the plant's characteristics, which has an installed capacity of 1,055.72 kW, it features a pretreatment system and three extended aeration biological reactors that operate independently in parallel, increasing its efficiency and operational flexibility. Air, supplied by blowers, reaches the reactors via fine bubble diffusers. After settling, the high-quality treated water is chlorinated and reused in agriculture, while the remaining effluent is discharged into waterways.
Regarding the sludge treatment line of the WWTP, it consists of a gravity thickening system for the sludge and a dehydration process using centrifuges.
If necessary, due to increased flow rates and/or inlet loads, the plant can activate primary settling and aerobic sludge digestion, which increases its treatment capacity.
The facility, which has Carmen Rubio Renovell as Head of Operations and Álvaro Bueno Collado as Head of Maintenance, has nine employees.
