Energy efficiency is no longer just about saving money, but a strategic tool for ensuring sustainability, resilience, and quality of service in water management. Based on this premise, Facsa participated in the conference. ‘'Industrial Leadership: The Value of Efficiency'’, organized by Power Electronics at its Valencia campus, to address how technology and process optimization are contributing to improving the energy performance of hydraulic infrastructures.
Facsa's participation in this meeting also reinforces the collaborative relationship it has maintained with Power Electronics since the birth of the Valencian company 38 years ago, a technological alliance aimed at promoting more efficient and reliable solutions for the management of the integral water cycle.
The company was represented by Miguel Ortiz, technical deputy director of Supplies at Facsa, who participated in the panel ‘'Efficiency in the value chain'’ along with representatives from other leading industrial companies.
In his address, Ortiz emphasized that energy efficiency is a key issue in facilities such as pumping stations, wells, drinking water treatment plants (DWTPs), and wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs), where electricity consumption is an essential part of daily operations. In this regard, he explained that the challenge lies not only in consuming less, but in consuming better: improving equipment performance, reducing incidents, extending its lifespan, and ensuring that each kWh contributes maximum value to the service.
He also highlighted the role played by tools such as remote reading, massive sensorization, digital twins of GIS networks and facilities, and integrated management platforms in improving analytical capacity and optimizing the daily operation of hydraulic infrastructures.
By participating in this meeting, Facsa reinforces its commitment to more efficient, connected and data-driven water management, where technological innovation and digitalization are key tools to optimize daily operations and respond to the challenges of the sector.
