Facsa, a leader in the implementation of GIS technologies in the water sector, returns to the ESRI Spain Conference with a more prominent role. The company will be a key player in the plenary session, with a presentation that reaffirms its position as a benchmark in the digital transformation of the sector.
This annual event, which brings together professionals, companies and public administrations to explore the latest advances in ArcGIS technology, will serve as a platform for Facsa, With over 150 years of experience, share your pioneering experience in the use of GIS (Geographic Information System) applied to the management of the integrated water cycle.
Having participated in previous editions (2020, 2021, and 2023) of the water sector conferences, the company is taking another step in its positioning by being the only water sector company to participate in the plenary session of this edition. This new achievement underscores its strong commitment to digitalization through GIS technology. Facsa has been a pioneer in Spain in adopting the Utility Network solution, applied to the management of water infrastructure, which has allowed it to modernize and optimize its facilities.
During the conference, which will be given by Joan Pere Avariento, head of GIS Projects, Miguel Ortiz, deputy director of the supply area, and Ernesto Santateresa, deputy director of the sanitation and purification area, the company will share its experiences and lessons learned in the migration to this technology, as well as its vision on how GIS can be applied in a comprehensive way in companies in the water sector to create complete digital twins of the supply networks.
“The implementation of our corporate GIS has represented a major leap forward in terms of digitalization for our company. The integration of the various systems through the GIS, acting as a bridge between different business systems, enables the creation of a geospatial digital twin for the management of the entire water cycle and allows for the creation of decision-making and geospatial analysis tools with a holistic perspective. The GIS solution implemented by Facsa is a benchmark both nationally and internationally,” Avariento points out.
The ESRI Spain Conference will also host the 4th edition of the GIS Job Forum. Facsa will participate in the roundtable discussion 'Where is the GIS Job Market Headed?' to assist students and recent graduates, providing guidance on the sector's current state, technological trends, and the most in-demand profiles for companies.
