The rector of the Universitat Jaume I, Eva Alcón, and the president of FACSA, Enrique Gimeno, have signed the renewal of the collaboration agreement for the sixth program of “FACSA Scholarships for UJI students residing in Castelló de la Plana” with which the company reaffirms for another year its commitment to equal opportunities and quality education.
For this edition, FACSA The program will be funded with €22,000 in scholarships, which will be used to cover all or part of the tuition fees for undergraduate students at the UJI residing in Castellón de la Plana. The grants will be awarded based on economic and academic criteria, which will be detailed in the call for applications to be published soon.
During the event, Enrique Gimeno conveyed to the institution the company's commitment to continue collaborating on initiatives and projects that facilitate access to university education for everyone and promote talent and knowledge generation as a guarantee of success for our future. He also called on students to participate in these types of initiatives.
For her part, the rector of the Universitat Jaume I, Eva Alcón, thanked the university for its support of UJI students through this scholarship program and noted that university education is not only the best social elevator, but also plays a strategic role in sustainable social, environmental and economic development through the generation of knowledge and the transmission of values.
It is worth highlighting the high participation in the previous edition, in which 180 applications were received – 107 from the field of Social Sciences and Law, 28 from Health Sciences, 26 from Engineering and Architecture, 15 from Arts and Humanities and 4 from Sciences – and 27 scholarships were awarded.
With the signing of this agreement, which was also attended by Elena Llopis, Director of Organization and Process Improvement at Grupo Gimeno, and Modesto Fabra, Vice-Rector for Planning, Coordination, and Communication at UJI, the entities are strengthening their already close relationship. FACSA has been collaborating with the institution for over a decade, participating in the University's internship programs, final degree projects, and joint initiatives such as the UJI's FACSA Chair of the Integrated Water Cycle.
