- The meeting brings together in Valencia more than 700 experts linked to the integrated water cycle to promote technical debate on the circular economy and the digital transformation of the sector
The circular economy, water supply, sanitation, and digital transformation in the water sector were the focus of the 35th Congress of the Spanish Association of Water Supply and Sanitation (AEAS). This leading national forum for professionals, companies, and institutions involved in the integrated water cycle brought together over 700 attendees and 86 speakers in Valencia. Gimeno Servicios played a particularly prominent role at the event.
Specifically, within the technical program of the Congress, representatives from FACSA have presented some of the main advances they are developing in their respective fields of action.
Francesc Gavara, head of the Comprehensive Metering Department at FACSA, addressed the quality control applied to this type of installation; while Juan Miguel Llopis, head of Maintenance at FACSA Supply, presented the progress of the EMBER project applied to the analysis of indicators for the predictive maintenance of submersible electric pumps.
For his part, Ignacio Pastor, coordinator of Farms in the Murcia and Alicante area, presented the results of a study on the elimination of Clostridium in the tertiary treatment of wastewater through ozonation. And Pedro José Martínez, a technician in the Sewerage Department, presented the progress of the GESTOR project related to the development of a prevention platform to promote the maintenance of sanitation networks.
At this event, FACSA also presented attendees, through two videos, some of its main innovations related to the digital transformation taking place in the urban water sector, such as the advances applied in its 'Smart Water' system or the 'Hydrosludge_3D' tool, which allows the design of new wastewater treatment plants using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation systems.
Alongside the technical presentations, which provided a platform for sharing the latest communications and initiatives of interest to the sector, the Congress program was complemented by the Water Technology Showcase. This space offered companies the opportunity to showcase their activities, and two special sessions were dedicated to sector communication and the international perspective on water challenges, respectively.
