- The technical conference on odor prevention and control brought together more than 200 professionals from the sector in Llinars del Vallès (Barcelona).
Presenting the latest trends, experiences, and treatment techniques related to odor control systems in the sanitation network was the main objective of the technical seminar "Odor Prevention and Control in Sanitation Systems," which took place yesterday at the Teatre Auditori in Llinars de Vallès, Barcelona.
In this context, Javier Climent, R&D&I technician at FACSA, presented to the attendees the conclusions of the study on deodorization systems using 3D computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation tools, carried out by the company. This study aims to provide a technological solution, based on the combination of CFD simulation and the implementation of odor sensors, that allows for a detailed analysis of the flow behavior inside the pretreatment building of a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) and optimizes the capture of the current deodorization system.
The meeting, which was attended by more than 200 professionals from the sector, was structured around five thematic blocks: legal framework, odor control systems, treatment techniques, case studies and experiences, and new lines of work in odor management R&D&I. It was organized by the Besòs Tordera Consortium in collaboration with the Spanish Association of Water Supply and Sanitation (AEAS) and sponsored by FACSA.
