Facsa presents its advances in water digitization at the Smart Water Open Day held in Burgos

Facsa has participated in the Smart Water Open Day, A meeting held in Burgos focused on innovation and technology applied to the complete water cycle. The event was organized by the Technological Institute of Castilla y León (ITCL), within the framework of the project INNO4H2O, A unique Water Technology Innovation Ecosystem in Spain, of which the company is a part, promoting the development of solutions based on artificial intelligence, digitalization and digital twins to transform water management. 

Along with Facsa and ITCL, the event was attended by the Ceramic Technology Institute (project coordinator), the public company Aguas de Burgos, the National Technology Center (ITG), the University of Burgos, and other professionals from the sector. The day provided an excellent opportunity to promoteto facilitate the exchange of knowledge, showcase technological advances, and explore new synergies among ecosystem agents. 

Jorge Fuentes, Head of Information Technology and Operating Systems at Facsa, presented "The Role of Digitalization in Water Management at Facsa" at the Smart Water Open Day. He highlighted the SINARGIA project, developed in collaboration with the Castellón City Council as part of the PERTE program for the digitalization of the water cycle. He emphasized the application of artificial intelligence to aquifer monitoring and presented digital solutions implemented by the company, such as remote control systems, remote meter reading, dashboards, geospatial analytics, and innovative developments like the digital twin for wastewater treatment plants, consumption forecasts, and CFD simulations for assessing floods, spills, and odors. 

Furthermore, Fuentes also participated in one of the round tables alongside representatives of ITCL, ITG, Aguas de Burgos, and Adasa, where the challenges and opportunities of digitalization in the water sector were discussed. In his presentation, he emphasized how Facsa's commitment to digitalization contributes to more sustainable management, with tools that minimize leaks in the water supply network using GIS systems, detect exfiltration and infiltration in sanitation systems with fiber optics, and reduce energy consumption in wastewater treatment plants thanks to the use of intelligent algorithms. 

Participation Facsa reaffirms its commitment to digital transformation as a key axis to improve efficiency, sustainability and resilience in the management of the integrated water cycle.
