Hydrens and SITRA inspire participants at the first Circular Economy Hackathon with their presentations

FACSA is participating these days in the first 'Circular Economy Hackathon', an initiative -promoted by the government of Castilla La Mancha- aimed at developing innovative, technology-based solutions that allow progress towards a circular economy model.
Specifically, Javier Climent, CEO of Hydrens, a FACSA consulting firm specializing in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation, analyzed the application of CFD simulation to the challenges of the Circular Economy during his presentation. Climent presented, in a highly visual way and with real-world examples, the various computational fluid dynamics simulation tools that FACSA and Hydrens are working with, and the solutions these tools can offer for sustainable water management. All of this was intended to inspire all attendees to create new solutions that help eliminate uncontrolled and illegal industrial discharges.
For his part, Javier Donato, director of SITRA, during his presentation “Legal Aspects, Technologies, and Practical Cases of Water Regeneration,” reviewed the major challenges that society must address in the integrated water cycle, stemming from climate change and the need for access to water, both in quality and quantity, due to the increasing global population, where the role of water is especially prominent and relevant. To this end, he discussed the value chain of the integrated water cycle, the segments that consume water and its distribution, the legal aspects and dimensions to consider when discussing the necessary water regeneration in the current context, the applicable technologies, and SITRA's extensive experience, presenting various practical case studies.
The presentations given by Hydrens and SITRA are part of a series of masterclass webinars that have inspired Hackathon participants with extraordinary ideas for tackling the challenges. This innovative event is part of the Action Plan implementing the Circular Economy Strategy of the Government of Castilla-La Mancha, with the aim of mobilizing the entrepreneurial ecosystem to move towards a new model of sustainable production and consumption.
