Facsa Once again, the most important programming competition in the Valencian Community, Hackathon Castellón, is participating. The teams in this eighth edition of the hacker gathering will work on innovative solutions related to a common theme: "digital transformation for a positive impact on society.".
Facsa, a company specializing in the management of the complete water cycle, which is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year, is one of the driving forces behind a technological challenge aimed at three participation categories: schools, vocational training institutes, and professionals. The challenge, "Digitalization Tools to Support the Complete Water Cycle," involves creating and designing either an application for the automatic reading of water, energy, and other utility meters, or building a prototype of a cloud-hosted Micro SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) software with a web user interface.
This challenge with Josep López, operating systems technician at Facsa, The mentor role can be completed remotely until March 31st, the deadline for submitting proposals, from which the finalists will be selected. The winning teams in the three categories will be announced at an in-person event on May 24th.
In the words of Josep López, "the future lies in the sustainable management of water, and at Facsa we have committed to ensuring its sustainability through more environmentally friendly management. Technology is our greatest ally in this endeavor. We are confident that the participants in this edition will be able to develop real solutions to meet this challenge.".
López also highlighted that Facsa and Hackathon Castellón share common values and objectives, such as the search for qualified talent, entrepreneurship, and the creation of a strong technological ecosystem in Castellón.
