- The course, taught by IES Politècnic, aims to train future professionals in maintenance of water treatment networks and plants
The second edition of the intermediate-level vocational training program in the maintenance of water treatment networks and plants has begun. This training has been offered since last year by the IES Politècnic de Castelló in collaboration with FACSA, which has played a very active role, even in the design of the training program, coordinated by the Valencian Regional Government.
The program, which is only taught in eight centers in Spain, has a total of 23 students - 11 in the first year and 12 in the second - and will be carried out at the FACSA Training School, a space for practical learning that the company has enabled so that its professionals can transmit to the students key technical and operational skills to develop as maintenance technicians in the water sector.
This school-workshop joins the existing Training Room - with a more theoretical focus - and is equipped with everything necessary for students to learn the assembly and maintenance processes of drinking water and sanitation distribution networks, as well as the installation, handling and conservation of all the operation, control and measurement equipment and other elements that accompany the water from its origin to its return to the environment.
Furthermore, to emphasize the educational nature of the center, the workshop features a full-scale circuit equipped with transparent tanks and pipes that represents the different processes involved: water collection, treatment, distribution, and sanitation. This circuit is built by second-year students to promote the practical component of their training program.
Additionally, during the course visits have been scheduled to various facilities that FACSA manages in the province of Castelló, so that students can learn firsthand about the different water treatment technologies and thus reinforce the knowledge learned by verifying their practical applications.
This commitment reflects FACSA's strong dedication to training and talent, as collaboration with educational centers provides an opportunity to equip the sector with qualified professionals who can continue to deliver such an essential resource as water to every home.
The company also maintains that this is a very valuable training initiative, both for the students, who are able to complete their studies and thus increase their chances of entering the job market, and for FACSA and the sector in general, due to the opportunity to connect with young professionals interested in this field and provide them with qualifications and specialization tailored to the sector's needs.
