An event, framed within the cycle of conferences organized by the media to disseminate the 17 SDGs of the United Nations, in which Ernesto Santateresa, director of environmental quality of FACSA and responsible for the Covid Water project, has been one of the protagonists.
At the meeting, held between the third and fourth waves of the pandemic, the speakers agreed on the importance of prevention and proactivity when addressing a health emergency like the current one. In this regard, Santateresa cited the Covid Water project as an example, which, as she described it, is "our way of contributing to society," since it is a tool capable of detecting and measuring the coronavirus in wastewater and guiding decision-making to prevent potential outbreaks and infections.
On the other hand, Santanteresa has highlighted the role of wastewater as a tool for promoting health and well-being for all people, noting that "the water It's complex big data, it provides a lot of information, and in this sense, this has been a proactive initiative.".
The information breakfast also included the participation of the Regional Secretary for Economic Model and Financing and Commissioner of the Presidency of the Generalitat for coordination of supplies against Covid-19 in the Valencian Community, M.ª José Mira; the Regional Secretary Concha Andrés, responsible for Efficiency and Health Technology; the Mayor of Vila-Real and President of the Spanish Delegation to the Congress of Local Authorities of the Council of Europe, Josep Benlloch; the CEO of Ribera Salud, Elisa Tarazona; and the Professor of Preventive Medicine and Public Health of the University of Valencia, José M.ª Martín Moreno.
