Facsa highlights the important role of metrological control in the efficiency of water supply management at the IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition 2024

Thousands of professionals and leading companies in the water sector have gathered at the IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition 2024, Organized by the International Water Association, the congress was held from August 11 to 15 in Toronto, Canada. Among the companies that participated in the congress, Facsa has played a significant role in the field of metrology, presenting the results of his research work “Analysis of metering inaccuracies of non-residential and DMA water meters.”. 

Specifically, the company has presented the results from his research work, that This presentation analyzes in depth the measurement errors in large-diameter water meters in order to detect and control them, thereby improving the efficiency of water supply management. It also highlighted Facsa's extensive experience in this field.   

The project has been led by Francesc Gavara, head of the Metrology department of Facsa, together with Agustina Bazán, technician of this same department and Francisco Arregui, professor at the Universitat Politècnica de València and researcher at ITA-UPV. 

”The research results provide a comprehensive overview of the actual performance data, derived from the large-diameter meters installed and tested by our company in the laboratory,” Gavara explains.  
 
“This data serves as evidence of the fundamental role of metrological control in maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of water supply management, underscoring the importance of accuracy in water measurement to achieve sustainable and efficient water distribution systems,” he adds.
