The Balearic Water and Environmental Quality Agency (ABAQUA) has awarded the company the contract for the expansion and improvement of the Camp de Mar wastewater treatment plant in Andratx, as well as the maintenance and operation of 13 other wastewater treatment plants on the Balearic island.
Castellón, December 18, 2017 – The Balearic Water and Environmental Quality Agency (ABAQUA) has awarded FACSA the contract for the expansion and improvement of the Camp de Mar Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), located in the Mallorcan town of Andratx. The Castellón-based company is participating in the project under contract 50%, along with the company COEXA.
The works have an execution period of eight months and will include a new wastewater treatment line consisting of a compact pretreatment unit, two carousel-type biological reactors with extended aeration, each with a unit volume of 800 m³, and two secondary clarifiers with a volume of 233 m³ each. The sludge treatment line will consist of a thickener with a volume of 76 m³ and a centrifugal clarifier with a capacity of 5 m³/h, along with a corresponding sludge storage silo with a capacity of 15 m³.
The project will be completed with the creation of a multi-purpose building with a pre-treatment room, dehydration room, control room and motor control center (MCC), as well as the implementation of a deodorization system.
Alongside this contract, ABAQUA has also entrusted FACSA with the management of some of its facilities on the island of Mallorca. Specifically, the Castellón-based company will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of the wastewater treatment plants in Pollença, Muro-Santa Margalida, Sa Pobla, and Formentor, as well as their pumping stations.
Purification plants that join the plants in Sóller, Andratx, Valldemossa, Camp de Mar, Sant Elm, Puigpunyent, Banyalbufar, Deià, where FACSA will continue to provide the services it has been performing since 2012 and which includes different types of processes, such as prolonged aeration, biodiscs or membrane bioreactor (MBR).
