In just over two years, Spain will receive €140 billion from the European Next Generation Funds, representing 111% of the national GDP. How to manage these funds and how they will transform our society was the topic of the round table discussion held at the Diario de Ibiza Club, in which Facsa has participated.

The participants in the round table agreed on many points, but on others they took opposing sides. On one side were the enthusiasts of the transformative capacity of European funds, and on the other, the skeptics.

On the side of the enthusiasts has been Guillermo Berlanga, Director of Innovation at Facsa, He explained that the PERTE (Special Plan for the Reduction of Water Services) for the digitization of water services "is a golden opportunity for companies in the water sector to complete and develop their digitization plans." "The water sector is one of the few business sectors that has a PERTE, so we must seize this opportunity.".

He also indicated that digitalization plays a fundamental role in ensuring the sustainability of Ibiza's water, "a municipality where water is scarce and the use of this resource must be a priority," and highlighted some of Facsa's projects financed by Next Generation funds dedicated to improving the management of the integrated water cycle.

Berlanga took the opportunity to explain that the Waternology by Facsa brand “is the company’s value proposition for the development of projects within the PERTE framework, as it brings together different digital solutions for the intelligent management of the integrated water cycle, all of them designed under criteria of cybersecurity, transparency, innovation and sustainability

The event was opened by Rafa Ruiz, mayor of Ibiza, who emphasized that "the funds could be an unprecedented opportunity for Ibiza." Following his remarks, journalist Susana Asenjo held a discussion with Miquel Company, the Balearic Government's Minister for European Funds, who provided an overview of the current status of the funds, with a particular focus on Ibiza and Formentera.
