Javier Garcia, Deputy Director of the Sanitation and Wastewater Treatment Area at FACSA, participated in the series of breakfast briefings organized by the Levante newspaper to discuss the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations. At this event, researchers, as well as representatives from the public and private sectors, discussed various aspects of SDG 13, which focuses on Climate Action.
Experts have agreed on the “need” to move towards sustainable development with a focus on reusing basic resources like water and embracing the circular economy. In this regard, García emphasized the importance of promoting, through education and awareness, measures that contribute to the preservation and responsible management of water resources. “It’s about re-educating children’s habits, changing small things in their daily lives,” explained the Deputy Director of Supply at FACSA, who also reiterated the company’s commitment to minimizing its environmental impact through actions such as using electric vehicles and energy conservation.
Along with FACSA, the following also participated in the event: Elisa Valía, Councillor for the Integrated Water Cycle of the Valencia City Council; José María Ángel, Regional Secretary for Security and Emergencies; Samira Khodayar, from CEAM; Alejandro Bermejo, President of ASEMAD; José Antonio Sobrino, Physicist and Researcher at the University of Valencia; and representatives of entities and movements such as Connecta Natura and Fridays for Future.
