- The Calvià City Council entrusts the company with the Works of the Mixed Waste Treatment Area of the Santa Ponça WWTP (Mallorca).
FACSA continues to be immersed in a promising expansion process in the Balearic Islands, within which it has been awarded the Works of the Mixed Waste Treatment Area of the Santa Ponça WWTP, in the municipality of Calvià, Mallorca.
The contract -awarded by Calvià 2000, the municipal public company in charge of street cleaning, waste collection, the wastewater sanitation network and the purification and regeneration of this water- includes the supply, assembly, installation and commissioning of a new waste unloading and treatment dock for the mixed trucks with which Calvià2000 operates in the town.
This new unloading dock consists of an 8 m³ truck unloading hopper equipped with a dosing screw that feeds a trommel separator. In this trommel, the waste similar to municipal solid waste (MSW) is separated from the sand and water mixture. The sand and water mixture is then transported by a screw compactor and deposited into a container for removal. The sand and water mixture is pumped to a sand washing unit, which extracts the sand and deposits it into a container for disposal. The remaining leachate is incorporated into the wastewater treatment plant's processes.
