FACSA, as part of its commitment to promoting sport, has decided this year to take another step forward as a sponsor of the 5th edition of the Castellón International 10K. The race, with which the Castellón-based company has collaborated since its inception, will now be called the '10K FACSA Castelló', reaffirming the company's commitment to the organization and promotion of this major sporting event.
The general manager of FACSA, José Claramonte, together with the director of the Drinking Water Service of FACSA, Manuel Breva, and Samuel Balaguer, president of the Running Castelló Club, met today with the mayor of Castellón, Amparo Marco; and with the councilor of Sports, Enric Porcar, with the aim of presenting them with the bibs that will be worn by the people who will participate in the next edition of the race, which will take place on February 18, together with the VIII BP Castellón Marathon.

For her part, the city's mayor, Amparo Marco, emphasized that "Castellón is a city of sport, as we host numerous sporting events throughout the year, two of the most important being the BP Castelló Marathon and the FACSA Castelló 10K." She added, "Sport is health, it's exercise, it's life, and it also promotes and boosts the economy of Castellón, so we must support and invest in it.".
In this regard, the Councilor for Sports, Enric Porcar, emphasized that “when we talk about the Marathon and the 10K, we're talking about the flagship sporting events in Castellón.” “It's a weekend with a huge sporting scene, and everyone focuses on an event that transforms the city into a hub where sport is the epicenter. Therefore, by promoting the 10K, we can grow and further reinforce the idea that sport drives Castellón,” he stated.
From Club Running Castelló, Samuel Balaguer expressed his gratitude for FACSA's sponsorship and emphasized that “despite the accolades, the Marató BP Castelló and the 10K FACSA Castelló are very modest events whose main driving force is the enthusiasm of our club and the Patronat. The level achieved can only be explained by the involvement of many groups in the city, including the business community, and in this regard, we must highlight FACSA's commitment since the very first edition.”.
The race, which will feature an urban route certified by the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA), will start on Avenida Vila-real and finish in the iconic Ribalta Park. Thanks to its flat and fast course, the ten thousand The Castellón runner has climbed two places in the national ranking compiled by the Federation itself, reaching eleventh place in his category, just one position away from breaking into the top ten, with only four editions under his belt. Regarding registration, the circuit expects to welcome 1,500 runners this year for the 10,000-meter distance, a record-breaking figure, as last year's race sold out with around 1,300 participants. With just under a month to go, more than 750 runners have already registered for the event.
In addition to being the main sponsor of the 10K and collaborating with the VII Marató BP Castelló, FACSA promotes the practice of sport in the province both through other established events such as the Penyagolosa Trails – the mountain race that includes the Marató i Mitja (MIM) of 65 kilometers and the Castelló-Penyagolosa (CSP), of 115 kilometers – as well as through the promotion of grassroots sport and traditional games with projects such as CF Fomento Castellón or the Children's World Cup of Boli.
