The acting rector of the Universitat Jaume I in Castellón, Vicent Climent, and the president of FACSA, Enrique Gimeno, today signed a three-year renewal of the agreement to continue the activities of the FACSA Chair of Innovation in the Integrated Water Cycle. The event was attended by José Guillermo Berlanga, FACSA's R&D&I director; Miguel Ángel Moliner, acting vice-rector for Economics; and Sergio Chiva, director of the Chair and professor in the Department of Mechanical and Construction Engineering.
Following the signing, Enrique Gimeno highlighted the Chair's efforts to "educate and raise awareness among citizens about the need to care for and appreciate water, because it is a scarce resource." In this regard, the president of FACSA expressed his satisfaction with the activities carried out so far and stated his confidence that it might even be possible to expand them.
For his part, Vicent Climent thanked the company for the "trust it has placed in the research staff to find joint solutions" and, especially, in relation to "raising public awareness of such an important problem as this, which affects society as a whole.".
The FACSA Chair of Innovation in the Integrated Water Cycle at UJI has planned an extensive program of activities that, under four sections: training, dissemination and knowledge transfer, research and development projects and cultural, includes actions to encourage studies among students in topics related to the Chair, increase the training of technicians and professionals, promote knowledge and transfer to society, as well as participate in cultural activities linked to its theme.
