- During the day, industry experts and representatives of the Public Administration discussed the Master Plan for Drinking Water Supply, which outlines the strategic lines for water management in the Castelló region.
The Castelló Auditorium hosted yesterday the city's II Water Forum, in which authorities and experts in the field debated the governance of this resource, how administrations should proceed and what the future paths are to guarantee a sustainable supply and management.
In addition, during the event, organized by Mediterráneo and sponsored by FACSA, the Master Plan for the Supply of Drinking Water of the Province of Castellón was presented, which will set the roadmap to efficiently supply all the municipalities of Castellón.
The forum, which was attended by Amparo Marco, the city's mayor; Ximo Puig, president of the Valencian Generalitat; and José Martí, president of the Provincial Council, among others, featured an interesting round table discussion on water governance in the province, in which José Claramonte, general manager of FACSA, was one of the key participants.
This initiative began with the proposal to create a consortium uniting all the municipalities. This idea was supported by Claramonte, who pointed out that "a single voice before the administrations would be very beneficial for the sector." She added the need to "promote transparent and public mechanisms and standardize management in order to strengthen territorial cohesion and enhance understanding among all parties.".
Similarly, Claramonte—who participated in the discussion with key figures in the sector, such as the Provincial Deputy for the Integrated Water Cycle, Ignasi Garcia; the President of the La Plana Water Consortium, Francisco Valverde; the Manager of the Seville Water Consortium, Blas Ballesteros; and the Mayor of Moncofa, Wenceslao Alós—championed the advantages of technology for the sector. In this regard, he referred to the company's commitment to innovation, smart water management, and investment in the circular economy, all aimed at increasing efficiency and sustainability in the management of this resource.
