Addressing the main challenges posed by the digital transformation of the water sector and sharing the latest trends in this field are the objectives of the 16th edition of the Technical Conference that FACSA is holding these days at the Hotel Intur Orange in Benicàssim. This event, held over two sessions, brings together those responsible for the company's main business lines related to this area of activity to share their key achievements.
On the one hand, regarding process digitization, attendees learned about the challenges of transitioning to Water 4.0, with 2022 as the target year, and the new technological tools being implemented to streamline various control and management tasks in facilities and processes. These tools have accelerated the digital transformation underway in the sector.
In addition to addressing the expansion of digital media as fundamental tools for disseminating the latest advances in water management and the exchange of knowledge in this field, the sessions also presented various success stories of digital transformation related to the Internet of Things (IoT), remote meter reading, increased efficiency in water management, both industrial and urban, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling or simulation applied to facilities such as wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs).
Among the latest innovations, the day also showcased experiences and projects related to digital tools, the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) technologies, and augmented reality, both in public and private entities, especially at FACSA.
